Limited edition print Moon Rising, framed and on the wall.
This picture was created by my art class tutor Alice Walker from her summer exhibition.
I have been going to have a go at Graphite drawing for some time .
Had this picture in my head ever since I saw it back in 2007, a really tremendous self-portrait Titled Joyride by Jake (Woodsac) on Deviant Art, from what I can see he has moved on now, hope this credit is enough for the ref picture.
It sort of fits my art class project of a view through the window.
As we continue in my art class with our still life theme, we have tried musical instrument and mono printing, this is a wonderful technique where you paint glass or a ceramic tile with oil paint and by using pressure, transfer the image onto paper, it was suggested that you could only take a single print and to use smooth paper, I had a go using watercolour paper and water with my water soluble oil paint and got a very pleasing result that I might work up some more.
Then we went back to basics, pencils and cloth I am told this was first principles for artist and they would spend hours studying the folds in cloth, I loved this exercise and became completely lost in it for far too many hours in class and afterwards.
I have been following a set of posts on Will Kemps Art school blog and having a go at my first oil painting, to be honest it’s my second but I abandoned my first as I really did not know how to approach using oil paints.
So painting over the first and following the structured approach I feel I have some sort of foundation to continue.
I have one snag not sure if it’s because I painted over my first painting or I just added too much oil to my mix I seem to have a wet ear, I am hoping time will sort this out.
Still I am pleased with my efforts and inspired to try again..
